Aboard The BOB

Tour the BOB – Sailboat Charter Alaska

Sailing Vessel BOB is a U.S. Flagged 1993 Catalina/Morgan 50 (designed and built in Largo, Florida, USA) which started its sailboat charter career in the Virgin Islands. In 1999 the boat underwent a complete factory refurbishment for Alaskan cruising before being re-launched on the West Coast. In 2016-17 and 2021-22, the boat was overhauled again with a new engine, rigging, sails, electronics, toilets, etc.

The most common comment we hear is about how roomy and light the boat is. BOB is perfectly built for a group of six with lots of headroom and a remarkable enclosed cockpit we jokingly call the solarium – with dry 360 degree views in all weather.

BOB is professionally maintained and is in excellent condition – with mechanical, hull and rigging inspected and maintained by the captain and professionals when needed. The BOB is current with USCG 5-Star Safety certification, and meets or exceeds all requirements for operating in Alaskan in-shore and near-shore waters.

BOB is custom designed for the safe and comfortable operation of a sailboat in Southeast Alaska. We take great pride in Sailboat BOB’s features:

  • Three roomy, double guest cabins with en suite head and shower for up to six guests.
  • Comfortable main salon with seating for eight, bluetooth stereo (bring some tunes!), big library and game selection.
  • Fully enclosed cockpit to protect from the elements for weatherproof sailing, dining and lounging.
  • We have lots of room on deck for fishing, watching wildlife or just enjoying the spectacular Alaskan scenery.
  • Inflatable dinghy, paddleboard, and kayak are readily available for shore excursions and exploration.
